Yes, depending on location! Please request a quote and we will see what we can do.
Yes! The timbertunnel is a multi-purpose building. However it does get very hot inside so if using it for other uses you may wish to consider using Opal or Bronze polycarbonate sheets as these do not let as much sunlight through. Contact us to discuss this.
Our standard design incorporates a stable door entrance and large opening window at the other end. This gives enough ventilation for us, but you are able to customise this when you build the kit if you wish. We may develop side vents in future as an optional extra.
In the UK polytunnels are usually considered as “permitted development”. However we recommend that you check with your local authority as there will be conditions on where you can site it, and in some cases planning permission may be required. For example planning is required if the tunnel is within 2m of your site boundary, is forward of the principle elevation of your house, or building it means that more than 50% of your land would be covered in buildings. Generally it is a case of a simple phone call to your local planning department to check these conditions. Note that the height of our Timbertunnel is 2.7m to the ridge.
When installing Timbertunnels we will include foundations as part of the installation.
CAGS (Crofting Agricultural Grant Sheme) grants can be used for some horticultural polytunnels. Currently Timbertunnel is not approved and you would need to contact your local officer to dicsuss whether you could purchase a Timbertunnel under the grant. We are working to get Timbertunnel approved for use on these grants. Please subscribe to the mailing list for updates.
